With the Asset “Aridty”, and this code in arduino we manage to send simple strings using input from the keyboard, over serialport.

This week removed a lot of dead code, and made changes to some old code to fit the new data types. Made new functions for the code to fit the purpose of our new data types.

This week I have focused on finishing the PCB for our system. I started almost from scratch again this week since I had forgot to add a few circuits and made the schematic in a messy way. Started with the Pins who are going to be connected to the arduino and then placed the different components.

After the schematic was done I needed to make the footprints dor the components and the pins. The pins from the arduino that is not in use I created new pins on the shield board so the pins was not blocked when the extension board is attachedto the arduino. The picture bellow shows the pads and the tracing. The top layer and bottom layer have ground planes and wide power traces. Most of the connections is going to be Female or Male pins because they are going to be placed away from the arduino. The last picture is a picture of a 3D model of the circuit board. The Silkscreen layer is the only part that is not finished on the board. The pin numbers and name is all over the place and need to be sorted.
