Introduction to Week 4 and 5 Updates: Smart Parking System Progress
Welcome back!
In Weeks 4 and 5 of our Smart Parking System initiative, we’ve made significant advancements that will greatly enhance the parking experience for our users. We’re excited to share the latest developments, including the introduction of a digital touch screen for payments and a safety check to ensure vehicles are parked correctly on the ramp.
In addition, we’ve been working on a user-friendly app that allows customers to make payments and check real-time availability of parking spots directly from their smartphones. This dual approach aims to provide flexibility and convenience for all users.
During these weeks, we also began building a physical prototype to test for any potential issues and refine our system further.
Updates from Our Data Engineers
Our data engineering team has focused on mastering the necessary programming languages for app development. They’ve just started on the project, working diligently on the app’s design and planning to develop it alongside our database.
On the hardware front, last week we gathered essential components for the physical system. This week, we’ve connected these components and run initial code tests. We are currently waiting on a power supply unit (PSU) to verify the operation of the motors.
Insights from Our Mechanical Engineers
Meanwhile, our mechanical engineering team continues to work on the design phase, testing various physical components for integration. They are also developing an animated model of the project, which will aid in visualizing the final prototype.
